At what mileage should a oxygen sensor be changed?

2000 Mustang 86,000 miles fuel consumsion is ok but is it time to replace the O2 sensor. The car has 2 sensors so cost is a factor.|||Actually, I was under the impression that there was a mileage increment in which to change them...something along the 50,000 mile mark and I thought I read it in the manual. I could be wrong though.

Either way, when they%26#039;re ready to go, you%26#039;ll know. Your engine will run like crap and you%26#039;ll get a %26quot;sevice engine%26quot; light.|||there isnt a set time to change the sensor, usually only change them when there faulty, usually the engine management light will light and you will have to have the fault codes read. If they are faulty you can can sometimes get away with just cleaning them if there faulty|||Service engine light will come on if you have a engine sensor problem. No light on , don%26#039;t bother worrying|||40-60,000 miles is what most manufactuers suggest, however in real life most people wait until the check engine light comes on.
