Bank 1 is always the bank that cylinder number 1 is located. The sensors are identified from the direction of exhaust flow.



On your Chevy, cylinder 1 is located driver's side front of engine. Sensor 2 is downstream of the catalytic converter and is also called the catalytic monitor sensor.
