You got way over charged. You could have other problems.Spark plugs, fuelinjec, map sensor, ext. If you have a auto zone thy will do a free diagnostic test for you buy the part and have a reputable mechanic to change it for you. The people at auto zone can give you a mechanics name are tell you how to do.you might give it a try you will be surprised how easy some of that stuff can be. most of the time it wont hurt your car but can cut your gas miles in half.

First you need to know what the code is.

Then you can tell if there is anything you can do with the shop? If it comes back as an O2 sensor, you may be able to take him to small claims court, for your costs.

BUT, also, you may have two O2 sensors, each one will have a code.

PLUS, it can be any number of things.

I bought our OBDII reader for 150.00 and it tells me what I need to know.

Go to AutoZone and get a code book for your model.
Since you replaces the oxygen sensor recently, the problem is probably not with the sensor, but it's probably in the computer. In many cars, like the Toyota, only the dealership service, has the key and code to turn off the oxygen sensor warning light. Ask the dealership how much it will cost, to turn off the light, if the sensor is brand new.
When you get a check engine light, a computer (usually at the mechanics shop OR at the State Inspection center, will tell you what the code is; it'll look like this %26quot;F0171%26quot; or f1130 .... something like that. Go on the internet and look up %26quot;Diagnostic codes for Camaro, or Charger, or Mustang%26quot; you'll find a site that lists the codes and what they mean; Sometimes a code can mean several different things, If your mechanic just looked at one of the possibilities then he was a bit lax... When you get a code you have to check out all the things that might me causing the code (He will know what those things are because the computer will tell him what to check)...
