black smoke is normally unburnt fuel ( check you re not also getting through oil?)

so it is normally a fuelling problem. could be injectors but its at that mileage normal; for most diesels to emit heavy black smoke on hard acceleration. ( look at taxis and buses )

the sensor can be faulty but it wont allow that sort of mixture through. it may also be affected by the air intake sensor which has a marked affect of fuel mixture when out of working range ( old and contaminated )

best advise is to think about it being expensive and have a mechanic take a look. get a quote for repairs and see if you want to go ahead or trade it in. good luck.

replace your rings, the black smoke means that you are burning oil.
take it to a dealer to find out
does it have a turbo? injectors OK? Are you running veg?
