shouldnt be hard or complicated, if you know where it is (by the headers, manifull) just replace it.
How hard is it to change the Oxygen sensor in a Miata?
Using the right tool, It's very simple. It looks like a spark plug socket with a split up the side for the wire. You can get one from any parts shop.

If you can get a good wrench on the hex nut, they usually come out without stripping the exhaust manifold threads. I recommend removing it when the engine is cold. You could apply some penetrating fluid after loosening it a half turn or so. I just had a Toyota that we stripped the threads on when the oxygen sensor was removed. Then your in a heap of trouble if you don't have a quality 18 millimeter tap and a lot of patience. So you might want to have that job done by a professional and ask who pays for the new exhaust manifold if stripped threads can't be repaired.
its not hard ,at all i own a shop, and if you have the right tool to do this with,,it takes about 5 minutes to change, and that's it,,just be real care full with the new one,,it don't matter if you break the old one ,but you don't want to break the new one,,good luck with it,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
you need a 02 sensor socket to remove the sensor, prob a good idea to spray a pent. oil on the sensor to loosten it from the pipe. also depends on the location of the sensor pre- post converter will have to do with how easy it is to remove. You can get the tool for about 15.00 from advance auto that fits a 3/8 ratchet
Are you sure this is your problem ?? You didn't post any symptoms. If the trouble code says something about an o2 sensor that doesn't mean it needs to be changed. NEVER replace a part till you know the problem.
