It will take under one hour to change this sensor. If you are having a mechanic do it they will charge you for 1 hour of labor wich should be right around $50. compared to other vehicles the sensors are pretty cheap too just make sure thats the problem. never go by just what a diagnostic says. investigate all other possibilities before doing any work.

STOP RIGHT THERE!!!!! You most likely do NOT need a new O2 sensor. If you replace it right now, you may need another one is a month or so. You REALLY have a dirty idle air control valve and throttle body. Once these are cleaned out, you can flush the intake system with GUm-out spray and SAVE your converter and O2 sensor. What is really happening is that your fuel mixture is going off, and carbon is building up on the sensor. SEE??? If this is a higher mileage car, then get your spark plugs replaced as well. Use DENSO Iridium plugs. Good luck!!
although basic labor is set these things often seize in place and take longer to get out so it could vary and if they break it off while trying to unscrew it you could end up with a large bill
